Hello All,
I'm curating a Dicty paper (PMID: 18326585) where they describe
localization auf dicty Aurora kinase at the outer (cytosolic) side of
the spindle during prometa- and metaphase, and later, in anaphase, to
the inner (nuclear) spindle pole. The inner and outer spindle pole
terms are currently as follows:
% GO:0000922 : spindle pole
%% GO:0005816 : spindle pole body
%%% GO:0005824 : outer plaque of spindle pole body
%%% GO:0005822 : inner plaque of spindle pole body
I cannot annotate to the inner or outer terms as they are yeast
specific under their parent. GO:0005816 (spindle pole body): The
microtubule organizing center in fungi; functionally homologous to the
animal cell centrosome.
In the paper a legend of Fig. 4 also says: "The DdAurora on the inner
side of the poles represents protein associated with centromers". So
maybe it's ok just annotate to 'spindle pole' and centrosome (which I
did) and no annotations to outer and inner? Or do we need new, direct
children of spindle pole?
% GO:0000922 : spindle pole
%% GO NEW: outer spindle pole (cytosolic)
%% GO NEW: inner spindle pole (nuclear)
What is the opinion of mitotic cycle pros?
Thanks,
Petra
