Hi,
Can we change the definition of development from:
current:
The biological process specifically aimed at the progression of an organism over
time from an initial condition (e.g. a zygote, or a young adult) to a later
condition (e.g. a multicellular animal or an aged adult).
to
new:
The biological process specifically aimed at the progression of an organism over
time from an initial condition (e.g. a zygote, a young adult or a young single
celled organism) to a later condition (e.g. a multicellular animal, an aged
adult or a mature single celled organism).
Jane just pointed out that the current definition looks quite geared to
multicellular organisms and this term has all the cell development terms as
descendants.
Thanks,
Jen
