Organ number: input needed please

Hi Development groupies,

Jen, Suparna and I have been struggling with a couple of development 
terms and I'd appreciate your input to help us resolve it.  I've also 
posted this on the SF item but since you're not all likely to be 
following the planty terms, you're getting an extra special email from 
me.

Short summary:  Wt Arabidopsis flowers are radially symmetric and have 
4 petals.  There are Arabidopsis mutants that have fewer petals than 
the wt.  There are also Arabidopsis mutants that have more petals that 
the wt.    How do we represent the processes that the gene products are 
involved in?

Current proposed structure:

---[i] determination of organ number; NEW
------[i]determination of floral organ number; NEW
---------[i] determination of petal number ;  NEW

---[i] flower development GO:0009908
------[p]determination of floral organ number ; NEW
---------[i] determination of petal number; NEW

But these terms are still too general.  What I'd like to add are terms 
like:
[i[ determination of petal number; NEW
--[p] regulation of petal number; NEW
----[i] negative regulation of petal number; NEW
----[i] positive regulation of petal number; NEW


Any objections to this (last) set of terms?  I'd much rather have these 
strings than 'regulation of determination of petal number' or 
'regulation of petal number determination'.
