The proposal has been made to obsolete

   RNA editase activity ; GO:0003969

Annotations to this term exist at present as follows:

   GeneDB_Tbrucei.gz	6	(no IEA)
   gene_association.goa_cow.gz	1	(IEA)
   gene_association.goa_human.gz	1	(IEA)
   gene_association.mgi.gz	1	(IMP)
   gene_association.rgd.gz	1	(ISS)
   gene_association.tigr_Tbrucei_chr2.gz	3	(no IEA)

This term is in the PIR GO slim and the prokaryotic GO subset.

The term is not used in external mappings.

The reason for this proposal is that the term represents involvement in a 
biological process, and does not correspond to a single molecular 
function.

Suggested terms to use to replace annotations:
   RNA modification ; GO:0009451 (or is_a child thereof)
   cytidine deaminase activity ; GO:0004126
   double-stranded RNA adenosine deaminase activity ; GO:0003726
