Dear GO,

The proposal has been made to obsolete

tricarboxylic acid cycle intermediate metabolic process ; GO:0006100

Annotations to this term exist at present as follows:
DB	Total
GeneDB_Lmajor	6 (all IEA)
GeneDB_Pfalciparum	3 (all IEA)
GeneDB_Spombe	2 (1 IEA)
GeneDB_Tbrucei	4 (all IEA)
dictyBase	3 (all IEA)
FB	2 (all IEA)
goa_chicken	5 (all IEA)
goa_cow	11 (all IEA)
goa_human	11 (all IEA)
goa_pdb	122 (all IEA)
goa_uniprot	2171 (1 TAS; all others IEA)
MGI	6 (all IEA)
RGD	20 (all IEA)
TAIR	10 (1 IMP; all others IEA)
WB	3 (all IEA)
ZFIN	8 (all IEA)

This term is used in the following external2go mappings, and is in the
prokaryote GO subset maintained within the OBO flat file.

interpro2go:InterPro:IPR001236 Lactate/malate dehydrogenase >
GO:tricarboxylic acid cycle intermediate metabolic process ; GO:0006100
pfam2go:Pfam:PF00056 Ldh_1_N > GO:tricarboxylic acid cycle intermediate
   metabolic process ; GO:0006100
pfam2go:Pfam:PF02866 Ldh_1_C > GO:tricarboxylic acid cycle intermediate
   metabolic process ; GO:0006100

The reason for making these terms obsolete is that it is a grouping term
that is not useful, but causes true path violations. Annotations can be
moved to 'tricarboxylic acid cycle ; GO:0006099' or to one of the children
of GO:0006100.
