Hi,

I have added a table at the bottom of the page where people can sign up
to participate remotely. It would be great if we could have accurate
numbers well in advance as this will enable us to get technology which
is capable of handling the required number of connections.

http://wiki.geneontology.org/index.php/2009_Oregon_Meeting_Logistics#Remote_Attendees

Since it is much cheaper and easier for participants to take part
remotely, I would imagine that people who would not normally be able to
attend may be able to listen in this time. If you would be interested to
participate, please add your details and we will figure out if we can
accommodate everyone.

Some people have mentioned that it may be difficult to call in in the
evening when at home with children. However we have found from
experience that muting the microphone and listening to the meeting like
a radio programme works well in this situation. The microphone can
easily by turned back on to allow the remote participant to contribute
to the meeting. We plan to show the talk slides via a screensharing
system so all remote participants will be able to follow the visual aids
as well as the sound.

Thanks for taking the time to fill in the table.

Best wishes,

Jennifer
