Thanks all for the test WebEX session and test call. All seems to
have worked as expected and we have a reasonable opportunity for
success.
Thanks also to volunteers to watch for remote participants who wish to
speak. The WebEX sessions will be projected at the front of the room,
so remote participants can use the 'raise hand' feature in webex to
signal they wish to have a moment to speak. If we are short of
'watchers' for this job, we can drum someone into service at the
meeting as everyone will be able to see the webex session on the
projected screen at the front of the room.
It may also be helpful to have many folks on skype at the meeting and
remotely. That way if the webex method isn't working, remote
participants can skype to their best friend at the meeting with a plea
to speak. We will do our best to remember our remote participants and
make sure they have an opportunity to contribute. When not speaking
it will be beneficial for remote participants to have their line muted
(use *6 to mute and unmute yourself).
We will also do our best to stay on schedule so remote participants
know when to call in to catch the bits they want to...but that will be
the trickiest part...
Conference call:
There has been some debate about whether the teleconference call
(particularly the international call) will incur charges upon the
callers. If someone knows for certain the answer to this question,
please let us all know. If you are calling in from home and have
charges incurred you may just need to file for a reimbursement....heck
of a lot cheaper than flying over here.
All remote attendees registered in the wiki will get an email with the
call numbers and access code on Monday AM. I believe the conf. call
number can also be included in the invitation for the WebEx session.
