Dear GO,

The proposal has been made to obsolete

   tRNA sulfurtransferase activity ; GO:000016227

Annotations to GO:0016227 exist as listed below:

   	DB total
 	GeneDB_Spombe	1 ISS
 	CGD 1 IEA
 	goa_chicken	1 ISS
 	goa_cow 1 ISS
 	SGD 1 IMP

The reason for obsoleting this term is that tRNA thionucleotide formation
is a multistep process; there is no single reaction in which cysteine
reacts with an activated tRNA directly.

This term is not in any GO slims or subsets maintained in the
gene_ontology_write.obo file. It is used in the following external
mappings:

ec2go:EC:2.8.1.4 > GO:tRNA sulfurtransferase activity ; GO:0016227
metacyc2go:MetaCyc:TRNA-SULFURTRANSFERASE-RXN > GO:tRNA sulfurtransferase activity ; GO:0016227

Two terms will be suggested for transferring annotations:
 	sulfurtransferase activity ; GO:0016783
 	tRNA thio-modification ; GO:0034227

Comment period ends on May 21, 2009.

*** Unless objections are received by May 21,
we will assume that you agree to this change. ***

Thanks,
Midori
