The most recent monthly report on ontology content, for October 2009, is

Ontology development highlights from October:

We have continued working on things reported here and presented at the GO 
Consortium meeting last month):

   * Addition of part_of links between the MF and BP ontologies continues. See

   * Ontology quality control work 
(http://wiki.geneontology.org/index.php/Ontology_Quality_Control)

   * Addition of cross-product definitions to gene_ontology_write.obo and 
gene_ontology_ext.obo (see 
http://wiki.geneontology.org/index.php/CJM_EBI_Visit_June_2009#Status_overview_and_release_plan; 
for background see see

   * Work on signal transduction terms
