[Gofriends] Retiring the old format GO flat files

Dear GO friends -

As of 1st Aug 2009, the original GO flat file format files:

function.ontology
component.ontology
process.ontology
GO.defs

will no longer be provided by the GO Consortium. The original GO flat 
file format is deprecated - the GO Consortium uses and recommends OBO 
1.2 format for ontology files.

For cases where you still need to work with this legacy file format GO 
provides a script - obo2flat - which which converts from the newer OBO 
format to the GO flat file format. For more details see:
