Either that or (perhaps better) the existing comment format using !, e.g.

xref: Reactome:158484 ! Release of the SLBP independent Histone mRNA from the NPC

Maybe Chris will have some logical basis for a preference; I have a very 
slight preference for the latter, but solely for consistency.
