Take Interstate 280 South from San Francisco, or I-280 North from San Jose, to the Sand Hill Road exit east. Proceed down Sand Hill Road about four stop lights and turn right onto Pasteur Drive. A sign will indicate this is also the path to the Emergency Room. Continue straight to the front of the Stanford University Medical Center. As you approach the front (where the fountains are) turn right into a parking lot or left into a parking garage. After parking, walk towards the right wing of the hospital (right relative to the fountains as you face the building). There is a court yard near the corner of the fountains that you should walk across, past the Lane Library on your right. At the far side of the court yard enter the double doors on your right into a large hallway. There will be an elevator on your right, take it to the third floor, turn left out of the elevator. Continue down a long corridor and turn right into the first hallway, this is before you pass the large double doors. Room M341 is the third door on the right.
Take Highway 101 north from San Jose, or South from San Francisco, to Palo Alto, Embarcadero Road exit. Go west on Embarcadero Road. From the North the exit is marked University, Embarcadero, Oregon Expressway -- there are three exits in one, after leaving the freeway you want the second right turn. Continue on Embarcadero to El Camino Real. Once you cross El Camino Real, you will be on the Stanford University campus. The street name changes to Galvez, stay in the left lane at the Y. Follow Galvez a short distance to Campus Drive, the first stop sign. Turn right on Campus Drive - follow this road for three stop signs. There will be a five-story parking garage on your left; the Medical Center is on the right side of the road. The north side of the parking garage is on Roth Way, and the entrance is on the south via Campus Drive. Turn left into the entrance to the garage. You should park on the lower level (meters only, all other parking spaces require permits). Cross the street to the Medical Center and turn left walking along the side of the building parallel with Campus Drive. Just before you reach the corner you will find an entrance where you will see an outside atrium with lots of plants, this is the last entrance before the end of the building. As you enter the atrium, take the stairway immediately to your right up to the third floor. Proceed through the double doors nearest the stairs. Inside the double doors turn left. My office, M341, is a little more than halfway down this hall on the left.
Take Highway 101 south toward San Jose. Use the directions mentioned about for US101. It should take about 40 minutes to travel from SFO to Stanford.
